About

From a blinking cursor
to building whole worlds.

I like understanding what happens behind the screen.

Myself Tirthankar Chatterjee, currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Calcutta. I completed my 10th and 12th from Rampurhat Jitendralal Vidyabhaban.
My journey into technology started with the fundamentals—learning how to think logically, break problems apart, and turn ideas into working programs. Since then, I've found myself exploring different sides of Computer Science: from C, Java and Python to web and mobile development with JavaScript and Flutter, and from Shell scripting to the deeper concepts behind Operating Systems, DBMS, Data Communication & Networking, Theory of Computation and 8085 microprocessors.

What interests me most isn't simply learning another programming language. It's understanding why something works.
Why does an operating system manage processes the way it does? How does data travel across a network? How does a database organize and retrieve information? What actually happens when a program runs? And how can a few lines of code turn an idea into something people can actually use?
That's what keeps me experimenting.

...

I've built small applications, practiced algorithms, written scripts, worked with object-oriented programming, explored mobile and web interfaces, debugged more code than I'd like to admit, and spent plenty of time figuring out why something that should work... doesn't.

And honestly, debugging has probably taught me as much as programming itself.

I enjoy working at the intersection of logic and creativity—where engineering solves the problem, while thoughtful design makes the solution worth using.

I'm still learning, still experimenting, and still building.
Because I don't see Computer Science as a collection of technologies to memorize. I see it as a way of thinking. And I'm only getting started.

The Beginning
First lines of C, first bugs, first breakthroughs.
The Expansion
Web development, OOP in Java, and systems thinking.
The Present
Networking, DBMS, & Full-stack development, with an eye for design.

Featured Projects

A closer look at the problems worth solving, and how each one was approached.

Mobile App

Stone-Paper-Scissor

A high-fidelity, cross-platform implementation of the classic game built with Flutter. This project demonstrates advanced UI techniques, including asynchronous timers for animations and dynamic state management.

FlutterDartAndroidStudio
Problem

Create an interactive Rock Paper Scissors game with a simple, engaging mobile interface. The app should handle player input, computer choices, game results, and score tracking.

Architecture

Built using Flutter with a widget-based UI and StatefulWidget for dynamic game state. Game logic, UI components, animations, timers, and user interactions are organized into separate methods.

Challenges

Implementing the timed choice-shuffling animation and synchronizing it with the final result. Managing game state, preventing multiple inputs during gameplay, and updating the scoreboard correctly.

Lessons Learned

Learned practical state management using setState() and handling asynchronous operations with Timer. Gained experience with animations, haptic feedback, randomization, reusable widgets, and responsive Flutter UI design.

Website

Restaurant Website

A visually rich, responsive, and interactive restaurant website. Crispy Confessions is designed to provide a seamless user experience, from exploring a diverse multi-cuisine menu to booking a table and calculating order costs in real-time.

HTML5CSS3BootStrap
Problem

Designed a complete restaurant website to showcase the menu, chefs, branches, achievements, table booking, ordering, and contact information.

Challenges

Managing a large CSS-based design across multiple sections and maintaining consistent styling while building a non-responsive layout.

Features

A responsive restaurant website with an organized menu, visually engaging sections, smooth navigation, and a polished interface built for an enjoyable browsing experience.

Lessons Learned

Learned how thoughtful layouts, responsive design, and visual hierarchy can transform a simple website into a more engaging user experience

Responsive Website

Farewell Website

A premium, cinematic, and fully responsive farewell tribute website designed to celebrate graduating seniors with elegance and emotion.

HTML5CSS3JavaScript
Problem

Create an interactive and memorable farewell website combining personal memories, photos, music, animations, and a college journey into one immersive experience.

Architecture

Built with HTML, extensive CSS split into dedicated styling and responsive files, and JavaScript for interactions, animations, counters, navigation, and dynamic effects.

Challenges

Managing extensive CSS animations, image sliders, scroll-reveal effects, responsive layouts, navigation interactions, background music, and JavaScript-driven elements together.

Lessons Learned

Learned to build fully responsive interactive websites and gained practical experience with CSS animations, JavaScript DOM manipulation, media handling, scroll-based effects, and polished UI/UX design.

DSA

Data Structure programs using C

A collection of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) implementations in C, covering fundamental concepts such as arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, searching, sorting, polynomial operations, and expression conversion/evaluation.

CDSA
This repository focuses on
developing a strong understanding of:

• Fundamental data structures
• Memory management and pointers in C
• Dynamic data structures using struct
• Linear and non-linear data organization
• Stack and queue operations
• Linked list manipulation
• Searching techniques
• Sorting techniques
• Expression conversion and evaluation
• Polynomial representation using arrays
• Algorithmic thinking and problem solving

The Journey

A Line of Ascending Depth

Not a chronology — a trajectory. Each point marks a shift in how deep the understanding went.

REV. 01

Started Programming

First lines of C — learning a computer only ever does exactly what it's told.

REV. 02

Web Applications

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — building things other people could use in a browser.

REV. 03

Flutter Development

Design once, ship across platforms, without losing polish.

REV. 04

OOP & Operating Systems

From instructions to interacting objects — then processes, threads, and scheduling underneath.

REV. 05

Spring Boot & Backend Systems

REST APIs, SMTP integration, and server-side logic connecting the frontend to something real.

REV. 06

Networking & DBMS

Beyond the code — computer networks and database systems, the two silent backbones of everything that talks or remembers.

REV. 07

Still a learner

Will be updated as my knowledge expands, in sync with my journey.
